Burjeel asked for a four-minute anniversary film not for a phone or a TV, but for the wide curved screen at the venue. That meant 8K. And it meant 4:1, an aspect ratio almost nobody shoots in.

Built for a wall, not a screen

Burjeel asked us for a cinematic four-minute anniversary film. The kind of piece a hospital this size would normally commission as a multi-week shoot.

The catch was the format. The film was not built for a TV. It was built for the wide curved screen at the venue, the one the audience watches from inside the room. That meant 8K. And it meant 4:1, an aspect ratio that almost nobody shoots in.

What 4:1 actually means

Most productions ship 16:9. Most cinema scope tops out at 2.39:1. We shipped 4:1. Same height, more than twice the width of a normal frame.

Step 01

We start with the treatment

Same way you would prep a real shoot. Script, beats, shot list, treatment. The film exists as a document before a single frame gets generated. Every cut earns its place before it lands in the timeline.

The treatment also accounted for the frame. A 4:1 screen does not behave like a TV. Eye lines, blocking, composition, the entire shot grammar gets rewritten for ultra-wide.

Generation, at 8K, at 4:1

What would have been the shoot day became a generation phase inside our infrastructure. Characters, environments, motion, camera moves, all built against the locked treatment.

Most AI video tools ship at 1080p, or 4K on a good day. We pushed every shot through an upscale and detail-recovery pipeline so the final master held at the resolution the venue needed. Four times the pixel count of a standard 4K commercial. And the canvas was a 4:1 ultra-wide instead of 16:9, so every shot had to be composed for that frame from the start, not cropped to it after the fact.

The cast holds across every shot. The world stays consistent. The brand reads cleanly across the entire wall.

Edit, grade, and sound

The last mile is the same craft any high-end project goes through. Conform the cut, dial in the grade, score it, mix it. Different tools, same discipline.
